INTERNSHIPS

From our Academic Director:
"Breaking into the game or film industry is very challenging. One of the most effective ways for new artists to break in after training, is working through an internship."
-Michael Ingrassia, Game & Film Industry Veteran

Expert Industry Advice:
"Internships come with a cost, to you and to the company that provides you an internship. The benefits are amazing, though. First it gains you actual industry experience. This experience puts you into a whole other pile of resumes when it comes time to look for a job post college. Secondly, internships will teach you more about the game industry than any class offered in any college. While I can tell my students every single fact of my existence in the game industry, I am, in essence, just relating to them a story. Experiencing it is another thing." Learn More

In-House Internships:
Because we strongly believe in the need for artists to hone their skills in a real world working environment, we have developed a real production game pipeline and offer our students the opportunity to work on a variety of in-house projects to further their skills and prepare their portfolios. Our methods are obviously working, because 3D Training Academy has a very high student placement success rate*.

Game Studio Internships Available:
Additionally, we work closely with several leading game studios in the Seattle area who frequently request new student interns from our academy because they know our workshop training is to industry standards and have seen the professional quality of our students' work. The best part is most internships are paid!

Skills and Requirements:
By now you're probably wondering, "How can I become selected for an internship?" First, you need the right skills. You may be ready now, but you may also need some training, so it may mean taking a few workshop classes in various production disciplines to polish your skills. What is most important is that you have the complete understanding of the tools and techniques currently used by major game studios. Second, you will be required to take our in-house industry test. Our testing process ensures that you have the proper skill level studios are seeking. To learn more, simply email us with a link to your online portfolio for a review and assessment. We'll get back to you with our critique of your work and, if we feel further training is necessary, will recommend specific workshops we believe will help to hone your skills and polish your portfolio.

*To date, 3DTA students who have successfully completed all recommended training have become employed by game studios within only a few months after completing their portfolios under our guidance.
